France's views on the issue of security in Europe are in line with Poland's, including on transatlantic ties, head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) Paweł Soloch told PAP after his visit to France.
While in France, the bureau's head met with French officials and attended a conference on European defence organised by the Polish embassy in Paris, an event that also attracted representatives of the regional Visegrad Group (V4) comprising the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.
The conference promoted Warsaw's view of "360-degree security" by making Poland's NATO partners sensitive also to threats coming from the east, Paweł Soloch said.
P. Soloch reported the V4 countries had spoken in one voice at the conference and held an "honest conversation with French parliamentarians." The V4 "presented a more pro-Atlantic viewpoint compared to France," he added.
"French senators prepared a report on security in Europe and its prospects in the transatlantic context which, to our surprise, proved to be convergent with our approach in many points," the BBN head said, adding that in their report the French parliamentarians, having visited BBN, tried to present the position of other countries as well.
Paweł Soloch also met with senators from the France-Poland Friendship Group, the French president's diplomatic advisor Emmanuel Bonne and senior officials from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
