Polish and Portuguese presidents meet in Lisbon

Security of NATO's southern flank and Central Europe's problems will be both in the focus of the NATO summit in Warsaw, President Andrzej Duda declared after a meeting with his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Nuno Duarte Rebelo de Sousa in Lisbon.

The forthcoming NATO summit in Warsaw was one of the main subjects of Wednesday talks held by President Duda with the Portuguese president and PM Antonia Cost.

Andrzej Duda told a joint press conference with de Sousa that their meeting had a symbolic meaning for him. "This is a meeting of presidents of two countries lying on the two borders of the EU (...) Our today's meeting is for me like a link and a sign of what Europe needs today, namely a manifestation of unity and solidarity," Duda said.
