On Monday, 31 January 2011, the National Security Bureau celebrated its 20th anniversary. On this occasion, the Presidential Palace hosted a conference „National Security of the Republic of Poland at the Turn of the Century: Experience of the National Security Bureau - Strategic Challenges”.

Finishing his diplomatic mission in Poland, Slovak Defence Attaché Brigadier-General Jozef Viktorin was awarded Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland. On behalf of the President of Poland, Head of NSB Minister Stanisław Koziej awarded the decoration.

President Barack Obama and President Bronislaw Komorowski reaffirmed today their commitment to strengthening the U.S.-Polish alliance by expanding strategic and defense cooperation, supporting deeper economic links, and promoting democratic institutions in Europe and around the world. The two leaders resolved to continue to work together to ensure that transatlantic ties remain strong and relevant to the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Monday (6 December) saw the start of a two-day official state visit by Dmitry Medvedev, the President of Russia, and the Russian First Lady to Poland. It began with an official welcome ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace.

On Wednsday 1 December deputy head of the National Security Bureau Zdzislaw Lachowski met with the Minister of Defence of the Federative Republic of Brazil Nelson Azevedo Jobim.

On 23-24 November 2010, invited by the Head of NSB, Raisa Bohatyriova the Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine paid an official visit to Poland.

Following the NATO summit in Lisbon, President Komorowski stated that NATO and Russia wish to cooperate. Both NATO generally and Poland in particular would benefit from this. He also emphasized that the summit confirmed the intent to cease military action in Afghanistan by 2014.

President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski met on Wednesday, 3rd November with Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia Artur Bagdasarian, who came to Poland invited by the Head of the National Security Bureau Stanisław Koziej.

Invited by Minister Stanislaw Koziej, Armenian delegation headed by Artur Bagdasaryan the Secretary of the National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia visited today the National Security Bureau.

On Tuesday 15th October President of the Republic of Poland has appointed Dr Zdzislaw Lachowski to the position of the Deputy Head of NSB.
