On 6th August 2010 during the National Assembly meeting, the President-elect Bronislaw Komorowski has taken the oath of office formally becoming the President of the Republic of Poland. Starting the swearing-in ceremony with a minute’s silence, the National Assembly commemorated the death of 96 victims of the plane crash near Smolensk.

On Tuesday 6th July in the Royal Castle in Warsaw Bronisław Komorowski has received the resolution issued by the National Electoral Commission on 5th July concerning pronouncing the results of the election of the President of the Republic of Poland. The Protocol was handed by the Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Mr. Stefan Jaworski.

During the conference held on Monday 5th July 2010, Chief Electoral Officer Stefan Jaworski informed that Bronislaw Komorowski was elected president of Poland. 8 933 887 voters (53,01 %) chosen representative of the Civic Platform and 7 919 134 (46,99 %) voters voted for the Chairman of Law and Justice Party Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
