President Andrzej Duda on Thursday attended the main National Armed Forces Day celebrations in Katowice, capital of south Poland's Silesia industrial basin.

Polish President Andrzej Duda has promoted five Polish Army officers to the first and subsequent general ranks, and to the counter admiral rank, the National Security Bureau (BBN) announced on Saturday.

President Andrzej Duda advanced Piotr Blazeusz to the rank of major-general during a ceremony held at the Orzysz training ground on Tuesday.
