President received NATO Secretary General

President Karol Nawrocki of Poland received in the Presidential Palace NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The talks centred on the current security outlook on NATO eastern flank, measures taken by Poland and by NATO to bolster security: through raising defence spending by NATO members to the level of 5%, in line with decisions made at the Hague NATO Summit, through the presence of allied forces along NATO eastern flank and cooperation in various missions underway, e.g. Baltic Sentry or Eastern Sentry. Also peace talks to end the war in Ukraine came under discussion.

As the Head of the International Relations Bureau, Marcin Przydacz, concluded: Mark Rutte’s visit to Poland speaks volumes about the interest that NATO Secretary General takes in NATO eastern flank and its security.
