Visit to the POLLOGHUB Rzeszów–Jasionka logistics centre

Today, the President of the Republic of Poland and Commander–in–Chief of the Armed Forces, Karol Nawrocki, visited the Ulma Family Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport and the POLLOGHUB logistics centre. He took the opportunity familiarise himself with the operations of the hub and met up with soldiers serving at the centre, which is of pivotal importance to the region's security.

This visit once again shows the great responsibility that Poland has taken on ever since the onset of Russian Federation's attack on Ukraine, emphasised Karol Nawrocki, adding that over 95% of all donations from more than 40 countries supporting Ukraine pass through this particular logistics hub.

It also demonstrates that Poland is making a significant effort to bolster  the sense of responsibility for its armed forces – the President pointed out. He noted that this is important for the infrastructure, for prestige and security of the Polish nation, and it features importantly in the context of the Alliance.

–We are in a place without which it would a be virtually impossible to ensure the security of NATO's entire eastern flank – Karol Nawrocki said.

The President said that the facility illustrates, as if through the lens, how the Allies cooperate within the North Atlantic Alliance. He mentioned that even before the Russian attack on Ukraine, American troops were stationed in this area, which “in itself is a deterrent to the Russian Federation”.

–'We must be deeply aware that it has been possible to defend Ukraine against the Russian Federation, especially in the first months and years, thanks to the efforts of the Polish nation and Polish soldiers, and thanks to places such as the logistics hub in the Podkarpacie Region,' he emphasised.

–As Commander–in–Chief of the Armed Forces, I am proud of the service of Polish officers and Polish soldiers – the President underscored.

The President was accompanied by the Head of the National Security Bureau, BBN, Sławomir Cenckiewicz, the Head of the Bureau of International Affairs, BWM, Marcin Przydacz, and the Press Spokesman for the President of the Republic of Poland, Rafał Leśkiewicz, Deputy Head of the National Security Bureau, Brigadier General Andrzej Kowalski, and Director of the Department of Armed and Uniformed Forces Authority of the BBN Major General Adam Rzeczkowski.

The main tasks of POLLOGHUB include supporting the Ukrainian side in receiving and distributing military equipment and supplies from international donors, as well as dispatching military equipment and supplies.
