The swearing-in of Karol Nawrocki, President of the Republic of Poland
Karol Nawrocki was sworn in before Poland's parliament on Wednesday for a five–year term of office as President of the Republic of Poland. He also assumed command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
The Marshal of the Sejm opened joint sessions of the Sejm and the Senate, i.e. the National Assembly.
The content of the oath is specified in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. Pursuant to Art. 130 Karol Nawrocki declared: Assuming the office of President of the Republic of Poland by the will of the Nation, I solemnly swear to be faithful to the provisions of the Constitution; I vow to unswervingly safeguard the dignity of the Nation, the independence and security of the State, and that the good of the Homeland and the prosperity of its citizens will forever remain my highest obligation. The Constitution provides that the oath may be followed by the words: So help me God.
Having said these words, Karol Nawrocki formally assumed the office of President of the Republic of Poland.
Later that day, Ceremony of the President of the Republic of Poland assumed command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland during a ceremony held on Wednesday afternoon at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Warsaw's Pilsudskiego Square.
