Andrzej Duda meets with Donald Trump
The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, met with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in Washington, DC.
President Andrzej Duda was accompanied at the meeting by Head of Cabinet Marcin Mastalerek, Head of the International Policy Office Wojciech Kolarski and his Deputy Nikodem Rachoń.
The Presidents of Poland and the United States also held a tete–a–tete meeting.
After the meeting, President Andrzej Duda and Ministers of the President's Chancellery attended the CPAC conference, where Donald Trump spoke.
During a meeting with journalists, Andrzej Duda stressed that he was satisfied with his meeting with Donald Trump.
The President confirmed what I had discussed with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, that Donald Trump intends to strengthen the US military presence in Poland. He said that we are one of the most reliable allies, that we are connected not only by military ties, but also that economic cooperation is developing between our countries,” said Andrzej Duda.
The President said that his conversation with Donald Trump also focused on ending the war in Ukraine. – He emphatically said that the war in Ukraine must end, that this is his main goal.
“He wants people to stop dying. He said that this war cannot go on like this, that he has to end this war, and the only way to do that is to talk to Putin,” the President remarked.
During the meeting, Andrzej Duda invited Donald Trump to visit Poland. – It remains to be determined whether this will be in connection with the Summit of the Three Seas Initiative or the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague. It is a question of Donald Trump's calendar, but he has made it clear that he will visit Poland, the President said.
The White House informed in a press release that US President Donald Trump met with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Saturday and reaffirmed the close alliance between the two countries.
