Meeting of the President of RP with the US Vice President
The United States is a leader in imposing sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, President Andrzej Duda said after a meeting with visiting US Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Polish president thanked the US president, vice president and Congress for their determination in imposing sanctions on Russia.
„In terms of sanctions, the United States is in the absolute vanguard and make no mistake about it, the sanctions are working,” Andrzej Duda said at a joint press conference with Harris on Thursday.
Andrzej Duda also thanked the US for its military support and humanitarian aid for Ukraine in the country's fight against Russia.
He also accused the Russian military of committing war crimes in Ukraine.
„The Russian troops are carrying out barbaric aggression there, murdering innocent people, civilians, bombing maternity clinics, where women who are about to give birth are being rushed out on stretchers,” Andrzej Duda said.
„It is a great satisfaction for us all in Poland to see US Vice President Kamala Harris here with us in Warsaw, in our country, testifying to the strength and deepness of allied ties, showing the United States' deep commitment to the security of Nato's eastern flank and Europe as a whole,” Andrzej Duda continued.
„I would like to stress that there are no doubts that we stand by Ukraine together with the United States and other Nato allies as well as the whole free and just world,” Andrzej Duda said.(PAP)
