President appoints eight new Polish generals

President Andrzej Duda has appointed eight Polish officers to the rank of general.

Major General Tadeusz Mikutel, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, Tomasz Piotrowski, Operational Commander and Jan Sliwka, First Deputy General Commander, were promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.

Brigadier General Slawomir Owczarek, Inspector of the General Command, was promoted to rank of major general.

Colonels Grzegorz Grodzki, Commander of the 6th Airborne Brigade, Slawomir Makosa, Commander of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade, Wojciech Pikula, Commander of the 4th Training Wing and Arkadiusz Szkutnik, Commander of the 2nd Mechanised Brigade were appointed to the rank of brigadier general.

The official presentation of the appointments is scheduled to take place on March 1 during Warsaw ceremonies marking the National Day of Remembrance of the Cursed Soldiers.
