Air War College Students visit National Security Bureau

On Thursday 18 March, the Head of the National Security Bureau met with Air War College (AWC) students.

AWC students have been visiting Poland for 14 years. Each year the students which are lieutenant colonels, colonels or civil counterparts after completing one year course participate in Cultural Immersion program in the chosen part of the world.

The aim of coming to our country is to familiarise with Polish heritage, political life and economic and military issues. During their visit to National Security Bureau the group received a briefing from Minister Aleksander Szczyglo which described the organisation and mission of the National Security Bureau and how it is set within the system of state’s bodies, as well as its tasks provided for the President within the internal and external security and control over the armed forces.

Minister Szczyglo pointed out practical degree of military cooperation between Poland and the United States, which is described best by the cooperation of both contingents during the military missions. First and foremost it applies to cooperation within ISAF operation in Afghanistan. The Head of the NSB emphasised that by participating in this type of missions Polish armed forces gain experiences and have the opportunity to verify in reality their combat capabilities.
