President meets with soldiers before August 15 parade

President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw met with a group of soldiers preparing for a parade that will be part of the celebration of Polish Armed Forces Day on August 15. The president was accompanied by head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) Pawel Soloch.

President Andrzej Duda thanked the soldiers for their hard work and commitment to preparations for the upcoming military parade despite the sweltering weather.

A total of more than 700 soldiers from all over Poland have been practising for the August 15 parade for four days already, the Warsaw Garrison reported.

President Andrzej Duda will take part in the Polish Armed Forces Day celebration for the first time as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

Polish Armed Forces Day on August 15 commemorates the victorious Battle of Warsaw fought in 1920 against the advancing Bolshevik Red Army during the so-called Polish-Bolshevik War (1919-1920).
