Head of BBN visit to Turkey

On 1-3 December 2013, Head of BBN Minister Stanisław Koziej held official visit to the Republic of Turkey.

The visit began by laying a wreath at the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Minister Stanisław Koziej wrote in the book of commemorative: “It is my honour to pay respect to the great soldier, the champion of independence and modernisation – Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. As a representative of the Polish people I take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for friendship and solidarity of the Turkish nation and their great leader”.

During the bilateral meeting between Minister S. Koziej and the Secretary General of Turkey's National Security Council Muammer Turker secretaries summarized the existing cooperation and identified new areas of cooperation and forms of contact. They also discussed the issues concerning celebration of the upcoming  600th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations between Poland and Turkey. Its culmination will be the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski to Turkey in 2014.

Meeting with the Minister of National Defense İsmet Yılmaz was an opportunity to talk about Polish-Turkish cooperation within NATO, specially the situation in Afghanistan after 2014 and Turkish participation in the project of NATO missile defense system.
