Italian President Starts Official Visit to Poland

Monday, 11 June 2012. Italian President Giorgio Napolitano started a two-day official visit to Poland at the invitation of his Polish counterpart, Bronisław Komorowski. The Italian President is accompanied by the First Lady.

The visit’s agenda includes a meeting of both presidential couples, which will be followed by plenary talks, attended also by the Head of the National Security Bureau, Stanisław Koziej. President Napolitano will lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The Italian President will also meet with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and lay a wreath at the memorial of Italian Colonel Francesco Nullo, commander of Italian volunteers in the Polish Uprising of January 1863 against Russia, killed in the battle of Krzykawka on May 5, 1863.

The First Ladies will visit The Warsaw Rising Museum.
In the evening, the Polish presidential couple will give a gala dinner in honor of their guests.

On Tuesday morning, both presidents will inaugurate the Polish-Italian Economic Forum in Warsaw's Hyatt Hotel. Also on Tuesday, President Napolitano will meet with the Sejm Speaker, Ewa Kopacz, and the Senate Speaker Bogdan Borusewicz.
