Joint press announcement by the NSB and the Security Council of the Russian Federation

Invited by the Head of the NSB Minister Stanisław Koziej, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Secretary Nikolay Patrushev visited Poland on 31 January - 2 February 2011.

During the talks, both heads of the security institutions focused on bilateral cooperation within international security, perspectives for development of the European security system, the NATO-Russia cooperation in the context of Lisbon Summit and development of EU-Russia relations. The parties emphasized that it is necessary to intensify fight against terrorism. As a result of the meeting “Plan of Cooperation between the National Security Council and the Security Council of the Russian Federation for 2011-2012” has been signed, which fills the Russian-Polish security relationship with practical content.

The parties have agreed on maintaining regular dialogue, free of political conjuncture and open for discussing the issues affecting Russia's and Poland's security interests.
