NSC meeting

On Thursday 24 June National Security Council had a meeting in Belvedere called by the Speaker of the Sejm acting President. The meeting was devoted to new Polish strategy towards Afghanistan.

The participants of NSC meeting included: Speaker of the Senat Bogdan Borusewicz, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, Minister of National Defence Bogdan Klich, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Jerzy Miller, Chairman of SLD (Democratic Left Alliance) Grzegorz Napieralski, Chairman of PiS (Law and Justice) Jarosław Kaczyński.

Moreover, also Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Mieczysław Cieniuch was also invited to participate in the meeting.
 
During matter-of-fact and constructive debate members of the NSB and invited guest discussed alliance and national aspects of Polish strategy towards Afghanistan. Concluding, the Speaker, Bronisław Komorowski asked the government to prepare a stand concerning that issue for the President of the Republic of Poland for the autumn NATO summit in Lisbon.
