Biography
Lieutenant General Dariusz Łukowski (ret.) - is a graduate of the Military University of Technology (1988). He also completed, inter alia, the European Security Cooperation Course (The NATO School Oberammergau, 1991), Postgraduate Studies in Administration (University of Warsaw, 1995), the Logistics Course (NATO Logistics School in Aachen, 2000) and a Higher Course on Defense Policy (The National Defense University, USA, in 2008). In 2022, he defended his PhD thesis at the Poznan University of Technology and obtained his PhD in engineering and technology science with major in environmental engineering, mining and energy.
General Łukowski began his professional military service in 1988 as an engineer at the Military Institute of Armament Technology. He then served as a platoon commander in the 61st Anti-aircraft Artillery Brigade, and from 1989 as a specialist in the maintenance branch of the Armament and Electronics Service Headquarters. From 1993, he served in the 15th Branch of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, and from 2000 in the P4 General Logistics Headquarters, which he left in 2008, having served as Head of the Logistics Planning Board. Meanwhile, in 2005-2006, General Łukowski served as head of logistics for the Multinational Division Center-South in Iraq as part of the 5th rotation of the Polish Military Contingent Iraq.
In 2008, he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general and took command of the 1st Logistics Brigade. In 2009-2010, he participated in the 6th and 7th rotations of the Polish Military Contingent ISAF in Afghanistan, as Deputy Chief of Staff of ISAF Joint Command (IJC). In 2011, General Łukowski joined the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, where he became Deputy Chief of Inspectorate - Chief of Logistics. From 2014 to 2016, he was Head of the P4 Logistics Planning Board at the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, and from 2016 to 2019, Head of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate. In July 2019, General Łukowski became Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
From November 2020, he started his service in the National Security Bureau – initially as an advisor to the Head of the National Security Bureau, then as Director of the Department of Armed Forces Supervision, and from March 2022 as Deputy Head of the National Security Bureau. In early 2025, after more than 40 years, he ended his professional military service.
As of February 4, 2025 President Andrzej Duda appointed Dariusz Łukowski to the position of Secretary of State at the National Security Bureau - Head of the National Security Bureau.
