SMS Action "Remember about the white and red"
One of the elements of this year’s celebration of the Flag Day was social action „Remember about the White and Red!” organised in cooperation with Orange and Play mobile communications networks. According to our idea, before the 2nd May celebration, few milions of mobile users using those two networks as well as holders email accounts in Wirtualna Polska website received texts cocnerning the celebration of the Flag Day.
Using this interesting and unconventional way we would like to remind – in particular young people – about important dates and events for our country. We believe that thanks to a goodwill and engagement of Polish Telecommunication SA and P4 Sp. z o.o., which agreed to participate, free of charge, in the first actions of such type, we were able to take a big step in order to promote the knowledge about Polish national symbols.
By using modern communication techniques which have not been applied so far for such type of occasions, we wanted to prove that national symbols don’t have to be associated with solemn state celebrations only, but they can and should become elements of our everyday life.
