Lieutenant-General M. Cieniuch appointed new Chief of Staff
On Friday 7th May Bronisław Komorowski the Speaker of the Sejm acting president has appointed Lieutenant-General Mieczyslaw Cieniuch the new Chief of Staff.
Ceremony of awarding the nomination was held in Belweder. Among participants were Mr. Jacek Michałowski, acting the Head of the Chancellery of the President, Professor Stanislaw Koziej, Head of the National Security Bureau, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Bogdan Klich as well as generals and representatives of Polish Armed Forces.
Lieutenant-General M. Cieniuch replaced General Franciszek Gagar who tragically died in a plane-crash near Smoleńsk on 10th April.
