Head of BBN: French president's visit likely in spring

French President Emmanuel Macron will likely visit Poland in the spring, the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) Paweł Soloch told on Wednesday, a day after France's European affairs minister concluded her visit to Warsaw.

French Minister for European Affairs Nathalie Loiseau paid a two-day visit to Warsaw on Monday and Tuesday, where she announced President Macron's plans to come to Poland this year.

"As of now, we expect that President Macron will visit Poland in the spring. This shows that we're not an isolated country and it is difficult to bypass Poland when important issues that are crucial for the security and the development of our continent are at stake," Paweł Soloch said.

Polish presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski and Soloch will go to Paris in the middle of February to meet Macron's aides responsible for foreign and military policies as part of preparations for the French president's visit to Poland.

Soloch added that the Polish-French relations were below the potential of both countries and their needs. He named cooperation between the Polish and French defence industries as one of the likely topics to be discussed during Macron's visit.
