You can fulfil tasks facing you - President to new Navy officers

"I am convinced that you will be able to fulfil tasks facing you, and that in the future the Polish Navy will have a professional staff ready for brave decisions", President Andrzej Duda wrote in a letter to graduates of the Naval Academy in Gdynia.

The letter was read out during a promotion ceremony of Naval Academy graduates to officer rank by head of the National Security Bureau Pawel Soloch in Gdynia, northern Poland, on Friday.

The president appealed to Navy officers "to remember that every post they assume during their service is marked by great prestige and even by larger responsibility for the proper implementation of tasks and for their subordinates".

Andrzej Duda reminded that their work was above all service. "I am convinced that you will be able to fulfil tasks facing you, and that in the future the Polish Navy will have modern vessels - this is what we are striving for and working on now - and a professional staff ready for brave decisions", he stressed.

The president added that work was under way at the National Security Bureau in cooperation with the Naval Academy on a strategic concept of Poland's maritime security.
