Paweł Soloch met with soldiers from Poland's world-famous GROM unit

The Head of the National Security Bureau, Minister Paweł Soloch and BBN executives, took part in the GROM celebration on Thursday. National Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz also participated in the ceremony.

Minister Paweł Soloch emphasized the merit of the individual: "GROM is a brand, GROM is an elite.... Behind these words is your professionalism, your work and your dedication."

Minister Antoni Macierewicz added: "This unit well illustrates the history of the Polish Army, the reconstruction of an independent Polish Army. You have fought in some of the biggest battles in world history; you participated in them. Your name 'GROM' (Polish for "thunder") sounded like a thunder in the ears of the entire world. The Polish people were proud of it".

During the ceremony soldiers of the unit and employees of the army were awarded Medals for National Defense, as well as Afghan Stars and Medals for many years of service. Colonel Mariusz Pawluk handed the Honor GROM badge and commemorative gorgate.

Deputy Minister of Defense Bartłomiej Grabski and the Head of BBN paid homage to dead soldiers lighting candles in memorial places on the territory of the unit.
