General Nominations to be awarded on the Independence Day

This is to inform that the President of the Republic of Poland, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mr. Lech Kaczynski has accepted promotions to generals of six officers of Polish Army.

Promotions have been put forward as motion by the Minister of the National Defence, Mr. Bogdan Klich.

On Thursday, 5th November, upon receiving the opinion issued by the Head of the National Security Bureau, Mr. Aleksander Sczyglo, President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Lech Kaczyński has sent the list of officers to be countersigned by the Prime Minister, Mr. Donald Tusk.
The following officers will receive their nominations:
 
To major-general:
– Brigadier-General Zbigniew Galec
– Brigadier-General Anatol Wojtan
 
To vice-admiral:
– Rear admiral Jerzy Patz
 
To brigadier-general:
– Colonel Jan Gabryś
– Colonel Marian Jeleniewski
– Colonel Marek Sobiechowski
 
Moreover, the following officers will be promoted to brigadier-general:
– Colonel father Witold Kiedrowski – not liable for military service
– Colonel Zdzisław Julian Starostecki – not liable for military service
– captain Stanisław Sojczyński - posthumously
 
The ceremony of awarding the nominations will be held on the Independence Day on 11th November in the Presidential Palace.
