National Security Council – meeting on the situation in Ukraine

On 3 March 2014, a meeting of the National Security Council (RBN) took place in Warsaw. The aim of this meeting was to inform the public opinion and political parties about the situation and the scenarios under preparation by the Polish state on the situation in Ukraine.

President Bronisław Komorowski said after the meeting, that it is Poland's role to show that Russia has been violating numerous norms of international law and international obligations concerning Crimea, and to take steps convincing the West to take firm actions.

B. Komorowski said that the crisis in the East is not a direct threat to Poland, but a threat to the international order. He also stressed that during the phone call U.S. President Barack Obama has clearly assured him, about the full security guarantees for Poland.
