U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Space and Defense Policy visit to BBN

On 18 April 2013, Head of BBN Stanisław Koziej met with Frank A. Rose, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Space and Defense Policy from the U.S. Department of Defense, responsible for missile defense, military space policy, and conventional arms control. F. Rose is also responsible for the cooperation with U.S. allies in the missile defense.

The main subject of the meeting was the future of the U.S. missile defense. F. Rose presented the determinants of the decision on abandon the fourth phase of the EPAA. Mr. Rose assured, that the third phase of the project will be realised as scheduled.

Head of BBN, Minister Stanisław Koziej stressed the importance of developing the missile defense system for the defense potential and cohesion of NATO. Mr. Koziej also expressed the hope for cooperation in the field of MD with the United States and NATO as a part of the modernization of Polish air defense, including missile defense.

The meeting was also attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Poland Stephen Mull.
