CAPSTONE fellows visit BBN

Wednesday, 10 October 2012. BBN hosted a meeting with a study group of newly appointed generals and their civil counterparts, who participate in CAPSTONE course. The visit aimed at familiarizing National Defense fellows with BBN’s structure and tasks as well as evaluations of global and regional conditions of the national security, in particular Polish defense policy priorities.

The guests were welcomed by Director of Strategic Analyses Department, Kazimierz Sikorski, who presented tasks performed by the Bureau, including principles and results of the National Security Strategic Review.

Deputy Head of the Armed Forces Supervision Department, Czesław Juźwik familiarized the guests with the main priorities specified by Polish President in the directions of the armed forces development – air defense (including missile defense), information systems and ensuring mobility of the army.

Paulina Piasecka, head of unit in the Department of Legal and Non-military Affairs referred to cyber security problems – Polish experience and prepared as well the solutions implemented within this scope.

At the end of the visit, gen. David Coffman thanked for the meeting, which in his opinion enabled the CAPSTONE fellows to deepen their knowledge about Polish view on the security matters, both in the region and around the world, and would contribute to fine Polish-American relations.
