Enders Wimbush, Senior Director for Foreign Policy and Civil Society in German Marshall Fund visits the NSB

Thursday, 8 March 2012. The National Security Bureau hosted Mr. Enders Wimbush, Senior Director for Foreign Policy and Civil Society in German Marshall Fund. Mr. Wimbush met with the Deputy Head of the NSB Zdzisław Lachowski and the bureau’s analysts.

During the meeting Enders Wimbush informed about the main principles of a research program prepared by the GMF focused on the hard security issues. The program aims at initiating a debate about the security in the region, first and foremost on the North Atlantic Alliance borders.

Program’s main elements will include researches on the cyber, marine and borderland security. Generally the authors will focus on the future security challenges, forming situation development scenarios and building new doctrines. Mr. Wimbush asked the National Security Bureau to join the works carried out under the program, which was construed by Mr. Lachowski as an interesting opportunity.

The parties also discussed the current political situation in the region, and the guest was informed about the main principles of the National Security Strategic Review and the NSB’s tasks that result from the function of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces executed by the President of Poland.
