Head of the Israel’s National Security Council visits Poland

Monday, 6 February 2012. Invited by the Head of the NSB, Gen. (Res.) Yaakov Amidror, Head of the National Security Council and Adviser to President Benjamin Netanyahu visited Poland.

During the meeting both parties emphasized good relations between Poland and Israel, confirmed by the intergovernmental dialogue and cyclic Polish-Israeli Strategic and Defense Dialogue.

The parties indicated the need to deepen the cooperation between Polish NSB and Israel’s Security Council in the domains pivotal for the security and stressed how important are new threats and challenges, including the cyber space.

The talks concerned also the perception of terrorist threats and Iranian nuclear program. Minister Koziej and General Amidror discussed perspectives for the Middle East Peace Process and events taking place in the Middle East and North Africa, including Egypt and Syria and how they influence security in the region. Another problem discussed concerned Russian and Chinese policy in the Middle East related to the Syrian issue.

During his stay in Poland, General Amidror met with the representatives of Polish administration, among others, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Jerzy Pomianowski.
