Deputy Head of the NSB visits Israel and Palestinian National Authority

On 19-22 June the Deputy Head of the NSB, Mr. Zdzislaw Lachowski visited Israel and Palestinian National Authority.

During the visit, the NSB’s delegation assessed and discussed with the representatives of Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs perspectives for development of Middle East and North Africa in the context of the „Arab spring”, the shaping of Israeli foreign and security policy in the face of regional and global challenges, relations between Israel and the European Union as well as the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

Mr. Lachowski met with the Deputy Head of the Israeli National Security Council – Eran Lermann. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the institutions and current challenges for Israel’s security and fight with terrorism.

During his visit in Ramallah Mr. Lachowski met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Riad al-Malki and the Head of the Chancellery of the President, Mr. Mahmoud Abbas Hussein al-Araj. The main subject discussed concerned the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Moreover, the parties talked about the perspectives for development of regional situation.

Mr. Lachowski also met with the representatives of Israeli think-tanks including The International Center for Consultations and The Institute for National Security Studies and media. They presented their assessments of events and processes taking place in the Arab world, perspectives for the Middle East peace process and development of Iranian nuclear program.
